Narrative text is a text focusing specific participants. Its social
function is to tell stories, entertain the readers ad show moral values
indirectly. There are many kinds of narrative or story such as fairy tale,
folktale, legends, myths, etc. There are several important things to
consider when creating a narrative text, namely:
a. Generic structure, which consists of orientation which functions as an
1) introduction part of the text; 2) complication, namely the part which
explores the conflict among the characters; and the last is 3)
resolution, namely the part when the conflict tends to be decreased and
ended.
b. Language features, which consists of the use of specific nouns to
mention people and things in the story; the use of adjectives; the use
of time connectives; the use of adverbs and adverbial; and the last is
the use of past tense.
Another function of narrative text apart from entertaining the reader
is to convey a moral message indirectly to the reader about everyday life.
