STEP 2 Seize three cords to a bar or rail, and start Half Hitches in alternating
directions, as shown (see Appendix A for details on seizing).

STEP 3 Continue by always taking the last cord used and making a Half Hitch in the
direction opposite to the previous one.

STEP 4 Tighten each hitch as you go, and it will form a pattern similar to a Three-
Strand Braid along its length.
