STEP 3 Pass the hook or swivel through the bight of the running end. Take out slack
with both ends together, and finish tightening with the standing part.
Note that in order to tie the Palomar, the eye should be large enough to pass a bight
through it.
REEL KNOT
Also called the Arbor Knot or Line to Reel or Spool, this knot will get you started when
winding line onto a spool.
STEP 1 Bring the running end around the spool and tie an Overhand Knot around the
standing part.
STEP 2 Make another Overhand Knot, close to the first, and trim the end short.
