In September, CALEA enrolled it’s twentieth of twenty-one Mexican agencies that were identi ed under the US Department of State grant program. This brings the total number of agencies from the respective country to thirty-six.
Commissioner Webre was elected as
the new CALEA Commissioner Chairman during the November 2017 Jacksonville Conference. The new Vice-Chair is Commissioner Anthony Purcell; Secretary Commissioner Douglas Knight; and Treasurer Commissioner Marcus Brown.
Executive Director Craig Hartley facilitated the quarterly Regional Advisory Group meeting to solicit feedback
from chief executive of cers regarding accreditation related activities and programs. The information is relayed to the Commission during various conference meetings. Overall, the regional members speaking highly of the changes made
to the accreditation process and are in favor of the 4-year process and annual assessments.
RPM Dan Shaw participates in quarterly IACP Model Policy Board meetings as
a CALEA representative. DCSR Travis Parrish serves on IACP’s Community Policing Committee overseeing the annual community policing award.
Throughout 2017 CALEA conducted 404 web-based assessments for enrolled agencies. The Regional Program Managers represented CALEA at 61 Accreditation Support Network meetings. There were 20 local certi cate presentations, and
staff attended 22 meetings with relevant professional organizations regarding strategies for mutual support and messaging.

In October, Chairperson Richard Myers, Executive Director Craig Hartley, and

The Accreditation Manager Certi cation Program was released in December.
