Beebe receives Early Career Award
An Early Career Award
was presented to alum Jason Beebe at at a a a a a a a a a a a a ceremony on on on on June 17 at at University Park The award honors College of Engineering alumni who are leaders in in in their profession community and involvement with Penn State After graduating from Penn State with his bachelor’s degree in in 2005 Beebe joined Westinghouse Electric Company as a a a core designer He earned a a a a master’s degree in nuclear from Penn State in in 2008 and master of business administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 Beebe a a high-energy leader with a a proven history of driving growth and efficiencies in nuclear technology now serves as senior director of the Global Transformation Office at Westinghouse In 2018 Beebe joined the Penn State Nuclear Engineering Society as its vice president to help further the the mission of ensuring that students are prepared to make meaningful differences in in their careers throughout the nuclear industry Dunzik-Gougar: Outstanding Engineering Alumni Mary Lou Dunzik-Gougar has received a a a a 2022
Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award
from the Penn State College of Engineering Dunzik-Gougar who received a a doctorate in in in nuclear engineering in in in 2004 is a a a a a professor of of nuclear engineering and associate dean of of the College of of Science and Engineering at Idaho State University Throughout her twenty-five-year career in in the field she has conducted research in in various aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle Her research has led to national and and international collaborations and and she has served as as a a a a consultant and expert for projects coordinated by the European Commission and the International Atomic Energy Agency In addition to her scholarly and technical activities Dunzik-Gougar served as vice-president/president elect for the American Nuclear Society—where she has been a a a a contributing member at at local and national levels for twenty- five years—from 2019 to 2021 Youchison receives Fusion Technology Award

Alum James Tusar led a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a project “Moisture Carryover Predictions Through Neural Networks ” that received a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Top Innovation Practice award from the the Nuclear Energy Institute In In In collaboration with Blue Wave AI labs the the team developed neural networks to to develop develop accurate moisture carryover models for boiling water reactors (BWR) The work was featured in the February 2022
