Front Office Responsibilities
What is It?
The Front Office is the nerve center of your hotel, with many vital
responsibilities to assist in helping your hotel run efficiently and
profitable. It is also the communication center within your hotel, for
both guests and employees.
Why is it Important?
Much of your hotel success depends on how your team will carry out
their responsibilities.
Some of these responsibilities include:
• Welcoming guests to your hotel. Assigning rooms and handle any
special requests for all expected arrivals.
• Checking your guests in and out of the hotel. Solve any guest
complaints.
• Handling all methods of payments for individual and groups.
• Answering the telephone, and answering emails should always be
prompt, clear, and welcoming. Using good morning/ good
afternoon /good evening is important on the phone, followed by
the name of the hotel.
How Does It Impact Your Business?
Failure to follow good communication principles can result in you losing
reservations and valuable future business.
