2015-2016 - Since 2008, Wakefield HS has initiated change in order to achieve a positive learning environment that supports academic performance. We will continue to target areas for improvement. This year's focus will again be the PRIDE Matrix: teaching expectations and encouraging students to carry themselves with PRIDE.
The initiative, Start on Time! will also continue. This initiative established methods for attaining and maintaining a more civil and academic setting. See below the list of established procedures:
1) Every student must have a pass if in the hallway. If a student is in the
hall without a pass, he or she will be escorted back to the classroom. Even if the restroom is directly across from your classroom, the student must obtain a pass from you.
2) Sweepers - During planning periods teachers will SWEEP for the first 10 minutes. We follow the standard sweeper pass rules. Ifa student is at the door with a sweeper pass, he/she can come in. Sweeper duties include:
Circulate through designated zones.
Conduct sweep before classes begin w/ 30 sec. reminders.
