 Conduct positive sweep after tardy bell (1st 10 minutes of class.)
 Issue carbon copy tardy passes with requested info.
 Give copy of pass to teacher + Detention Coordinator.
 Monitor student return to classroom.
 Administrators will be circulating.
3) 15-15 Hall Sweep - Students are permitted to exit the classroom during the first 15 minutes or the last 15 minutes of the period. This includes going to the bathroom and/or locker. The only times a student should be permitted to leave include:
o The student has a pass for an appointment;
o An administrator, counselor, or front desk staff member has
called for a student, (including test administration);
o Your class is going to another location (i.e -lab);
o Student has testing accommodations per IEP which requires him/
her to report to another location (you must give the student a
pass);
o An emergency situation that cannot be controlled in the
classroom (i.e. - student is seriously sick).
4) Basic Procedures-
 Reminder bells - short bells 1 minute before tardy bell.
 Common passes - used by all regardless of student
destination.
 No passes written during the first or last 15 min. of class.
 Teachers greet students at the door before class begins.
 Class doors are closed + locked when the late bell rings.
 Students enter with a "sweeper" pass or attendance slip.
 Teachers call home and follow established tardy policies.
 Acknowledgement is given to both staff and students who
consistently excel at "starting on time."
RESTRICTED AREAS
Once school starts only students who have Off-Campus Lunch Permits are allowed in the parking lot. Students may not sit in cars during the school day. If student must go to the parking lot, ONLY administrators or security officers can give permission. Classrooms, gymnasiums, wooded areas, and the middle school grounds are off-limits. Once classes begin, passes are required for students to be in the halls.
SEARCHES
If school authorities have reasonable suspicion that a student has violated the WCPSS Code of Student Conduct, administration may search a student, their locker, car, or book-bag at their discretion. Searches may be conducted without parental permission.
