91h grade students will not meet during SMART Lunch.
Media Center-The media center will be available during
SMART Lunch for academic pursuits such as study, research,
remediation, or homework. Students will not need a pass to enter, but they must sign in using their ID. The Media Center is an academic area; social activities should be relocated and computer priority will be given to students who have academic work to complete. All media center rules apply during SMART Lunch.
Eating lunch on campus - In the cafeteria IDs will be required to
buy food. Students should either be in line or SEATED at all
times. Students are not allowed to stand around the commons area. If not seated, they must be moving with a purpose to another location. Students are permitted to eat in the cafeteria seated at a table, in outside areas, in classrooms with teachers who allow it, and in the locker bays on the 151 and 2nd floors, but NOT in hall- ways or stairwells. Students must pick up their trash at all times.
Eating lunch off campus- Only available to juniors and seniors who have received permission to go off campus. IDs/ lunch passes are required to leave campus and are routinely checked.
Other activities- During the school year, other activities may become available during SMART Lunch. Suggestions from students will be taken into consideration.
School rules apply during SMART LUNCH! No inappropriate behavior will be tolerated - including skateboarding, fighting, smoking, etc. Staff will be supervising all areas at all times to ensure appropriate behavior.
IV. STAFF SUPERVISION + ACCOUNTABILITY
All staff are required to supervise students once a week for half of the lunch period. This supervision will be the same location and the same day each week (departments will be assigned a certain day). The schedule of
supervision and remediation days will be posted. Assignments will change after first semester.
V. TUTORIALS
Teachers will have 2 designated days each week to do tutorials. They are encouraged to offer additional tutorials on flex days and after school. How the tutorial time is organized will be determined by the teacher, department and PLTs. Examples might include make up rooms, subject specific rooms, homework help rooms, enrichment opportunities, guest speakers, etc.
Documentation: Teachers are required to have students sign in for tutorial sessions.
Detention hours: Students can also earn detention credit through tutorial sessions.
VI. STUDENT TUTORIAL ATTENDANCE
Any student who has a grade of 70 or below will be required to attend DIRECTED TUTORIALS. Teachers will assign students to tutorial sessions.
FAILURE TO ATTEND SMART LUNCH TUTORIALS WILL RESULT IN ADMINISTRATOR INTERVENTION & DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES. __________________________________________________________________
