In 1944 my youngest sister was born in Chicago.

In 1945 my father was discharged from the army and moved back to Chicago.

In 1949 the four of us, me, my brother and two sisters moved back to Chicago, to live, first, with our
mother's sister and than with our father's brother, and finally with our father.

In 1952 I had my first airplane ride. I won a five-day trip to Boston, MA., for selling the most news
paper subscrip ons on the south side of Chicago. ………………………………………………………………………………
To help support brother and sisters, I had many jobs a er school. I had a paper route, I worked in
Jewish kosher meat market, I carry people's groceries from the supermarket to their apartments

In 1956 I Enlisted in the United States Air Force.

I was sent to Lockland Air Force, in San Antonio, Texas for basic training.

A er 4 weeks of basic training, I was shipped to Sco Air Force Base, Belleville, Illinois, where I
a ended 6 months of technical electronic training.

In January of 1957 I was assigned to Clark Air Force Base, Angeles City Pampanga, Philippines as
radar technical. A er 9 months, I was transferred to Okinawa, Japan for 9 months.

A er my tour of duty in the far east I was transferred to Portland Air Force Base, Oregon. Doing my
me at Portland Air Force Base, I heard about computers and took a corresponding a course in basic
computer, a er finishing the 6 months course, I requested and was transferred to March Air Force
Base, Riverside, CA, and assigned the Armament and Electronic (A&E) as Bomb Naviga on Computer
Technician on the B47 bomber.

In 1960, I was discharged from the Air Force and went to work, first at Hughes Aircra Company in
Fullerton, CA. as a Computer Test Technician.

In 1961, A er a year at Hughes, I went to work for Burroughs Corp., and assigned to NASA JPL Deep
Space network, at Goldstone Deep Space Tracking Sta on, in the Mojave Desert, as Tracking,
Telemery & Command (TT&C) computer Technician.

In 1964 I was transferred to NASA JPL Satellite Missions Control Center, in Pasadena, California as a
Telemery and Simula on computer technical.

In 1966 I joined Ford Aerospace, as Computer Area Supervisor. A er 3 months Tracking, Telemery &
Command (TT&C) computer training in Palo Alto, California, I was assigned to Thule Air Force Base,
Greenland as Computer Area Supervisor, for 2 years. During the 2 years at Thule, I took 2 vaca ons
in Copenhagen Denmark and 2 vaca on in Montreal Canada.

In 1968, a er 2 year in Greenland I was transferred to An gua WI, for installa on and tes ng of the
new US Air Force Satellite Communica on System in support of NASA moon landing program.

During my assignment in An gua, I met and married Sheila Simon.
