AUTOGRAPH
Autograph is a very dynamic computer program. In windows
operation, its use offers 3 options, namely: (a) 1D for Statistics; (b) 2D for
Graphs, Coordinate Transformations and Geometry; (c) 3D for Graphs,
Coordinates and Transformations. Autograph has two levels of operating
systems, namely standard and advanced. The standard level provides a
very simple interface, while the advanced level provides more complete
options so that in solving problems, users are given the freedom to choose
options to be used in problem solving.
Autograph is a special program that many users consider to be more
powerful than Geogebra in learning mathematics (Tarmizi, 2009).
Autograph software is one of the newest products from London, England
which is capable of displaying quite complete menus including geometry,
algebra, has 2D and 3D graphing capabilities for topics such as
transformations, conic sections, slopes, and derivatives, and is able to draw
statistical graphs, functions, and vectors as well as to change the shape of
an object or shape.
According to Ahmadi (Rusdianto, et al: 2012) Autograph can
improve scientific discourse in mathematics class which leads students to
the learning experience of investigating and solving mathematical
problems. Autograph will help teachers and students to see the relationship
between visual and symbolic representations and scientific discourse
which in turn will create an environment to use the correct terms and
concepts studied. With this application, it is possible for users to modify
and simulate pre-plotted graphs, shapes or vectors to encourage concept
understanding.
