                 wisdom and trust.

lue day was organised for the
                 tiny tots of Pre-Nursery on
B29th July. The dress code for
the day was blue. The teacher and
the children came dressed up in
different shades of blue. The significance of blue colour was reiterated
through a series of activities. Experiment with different shades of blue
          was an amazing learning experience.
The children did hand printing with blue colour to make peacock
and decorated it with colored stone bindis. They blew up the blue
balloons. They played a round of “I spy” and found blue objects in the
class. They enjoyed a lot. The excitement and enthusiasm was visible
          everywhere.
Colour recognition is a key cognitive developmental step
for the Pre scholars, as it plays an important role in object
recognition. It helps to develop their descriptive language
skill which further enhances their communication and
          understanding of their surroundings.
To familiarize the little ones with the yellow colour, “Yellow
Day” activity was organized for the students of class Pre-

                                                and the children

sunshine and energy. introduced to this
                                                colour with the help
                                                of environmental
clues like yellow fruits, vegetables, Sun, flowers and many
more things that are of yellow colour.
The children were very excited while doing the activities.
They were given plain white sheets and yellow crayons. They
scribbled on those sheets. The teacher cut those sheets into
various shapes like Sun, bee, flowers, vase etc. The children
also blew yellow balloons and also sang a song.
The little ones celebrated Yellow Colour Day with joy and
happiness. It was an amazing learning experience as ‘Yellow’
the colour of wisdom and intellectual energy had a positive
influence on our tiny tots and their vocabulary as well as
their fine motor skills were also enhanced.
To understand the concept more clearly DPS Jammu
