Curiously, birdies were scarce this time around, even more so since no one could claim they were unfamiliar with the Saints course. Lloyd Torrey managed two circled 3s on his card, while only Dave Bousquet, Roy Nevirauskas, Bob Harper, and Jim Blevins were able to score one birdie apiece.

Week 1 of Summer Golf @ Meadowood 5-5-14
The course got the best of the league golfers on a very windy day, the first week of summer golf. This week we had only 5 birdies. 19 players had even or plus scores which is 38 % of the 52 players that played this week. The course got the upper hand this week. Besides the winners, we also had some guys that played well: Fred Bolliger +4, Cliff Lewis +4, Bob Russo +4 and Marc Johnson +3.
The game today was best 3 of 4 by flight with the “A” flight @ -3, 1st. place going to Phil Banashek -1, Sheldon Graham +1, Jack Sheuten -3 and Ken Virtuoso -10. 2nd place at -4 was Vic Bertucci -5, Fred Gehron -4 and Tom Swem +5. Tommy’s putter was on fire. The “B” flight 1st place @ +1 going to Larry Belton E, Paul Dictor +3, Harry Villano -4, Blind -2. “B” flight @ 2nd place going to Leo Collins E, Nick Ismailoff -9, Joe Kokoszka E and Al Sabataso -1. Hey Nick, thanks for driving the cart. The “C” flight 1st place @ +6 going to Fred Garbaty +4, Ray Teet -3, Joe Vetere -2, Rex Welker +4. Good game for Rex and Freddy. “C” flight 2nd place @ -1 going to Marc Johnson +3, Dick Weissel -2 and Dave Wood -8. “D” flight tied for 1st place @ -1 going to Kevin Karmel -1, Arnie Lew -3, John Mueller E, Dick Musial -3, Bob Russo +4 and Carl Thater +1.
LADY GOLFERS
The Monday Cascades Golf Group plays at 18 hole courses nearby. We meet every Monday at 10:00AM at a nearby course. During the season we play at Gator Trace in Fort Pierce. The League is open to any woman in the Cascades who would like to

The Cascades Ladies Pitch ’n Putt League
meets Tuesdays at 8:45 AM for weekly tournaments.
Golfers randomly draw numbers to create each week’s teams. We meet throughout the year including the summer months. There is no weekly commitment-golf on the Tuesdays that fit your schedule.

For the 2024-2025 season, the kickoff meeting will be held in the Cascades Ballroom on Tuesday, August 27, from 2-4 PM. New Bowlers are always welcome! The season will start on Tuesday, September 10, and continue through April, with a two-week break in December. CASCADES MEN’S GOLF LEAGUE
The Cascades Men’s Golf League is a year-round club that plays on Monday of each week. Our home course is “The Saints” on Morningside Blvd in Port Saint Lucie. First tee time is 9:30 AM. Over the summer we play a variety of courses on the Treasure Coast. The club currently has about 100 members, of which approximately 60 play weekly.
