Janice McKenna singled to center making the score 1-0 Yanks. In the top of the second, Chris Hachem led off with a single. Rob Crowell doubled to left, putting runners on second and third. Bob DePouli then doubled in two runs making the score 2-1 Mets. There was no scoring in the bottom of the second or top of the third, despite singles by Cliff Slater and Bart Cincotta. In the bottom of the third, singles by Mike Demarcantonio, Rudy Rognon and Jancie McKenna loaded the bases. John Sporer then lined a single to center for an RBI. Don Smith and Rich Fiederlein both singled for another run. Max Glickman then lined a double to left, knocking in two more. The inning ended with the score Yanks 6, Mets 2. The top of the fourth saw Crowell triple to deep right. DePouli singled him in and the score was now 6-3 Yanks. The bottom of the fourth saw Jancie McKenna get her third hit of the game, but she was left stranded by her teammates. The score remained 6-3 Yanks. In the top of the fifth, Ray Oliver singled. Crowell hit an RBI triple to right. DePouli singled in Crowell (his third hit and fourth RBI of the game). The score was now 6-5 Yanks. There was no further scoring in the game and the Yankees held on to win.
March 30, 2024- With temps near 60 degrees, 26 players showed up for our weekly game. Max Glickman's Yanks squared off against Allan Portnoy's Mets.
No scoring occurred in the top of the first. In the bottom of the first, the Yanks loaded the bases on singles by Glickman, Steve Depietro and Bob DePouli. Paul Zumbo laced a double to center, knocking in two runs. Rob Crowell singled in another, making it 3-0 Yanks. Rich Fiederlein singled in another. The inning ended with the score 4-0 Yanks. In the top of the second, the Mets loaded the bases with singles by Howie Bland, John Pullen and Lou DeBlasio but could not score. In the bottom of the third, Crowell led off with a double. Fiederlein then doubled in a run. Pauline Faubert singled. Rudy Rognon followed with an RBI single, making the score 6-0 Yanks. Jim Durante (guest) singled to load the bases. Don Smith followed with an RBI single. Depietro singled in another. The inning ended with the score 8-0 Yanks. The top of the fourth saw Howie Bland and Daren Desiere single. Their teammates left them stranded. The bottom of the fourth saw the Yanks load the bases on singles by Bob DePouli, Paul Zumbo and Rob Crowell. Jim Durante (guest) then hit a long triple to right for 3 RBIs. Don Smith singled in Durante and the inning ended with the score 12-0 Yanks. There was no scoring in the fifth. The top of the sixth saw 89-year-old Cliff Slater single to right. He was left stranded at first. The final score was 12-0 Yanks. An overwhelming pitching performance from Max Glickman.
April 6, 2024 - Twenty-four players showed up for our game. It was Max Glickman's Yankees against Rich Fiederlein’s Tigers. There was no scoring in the first. In the top of the second, Bob DePouli tripled. Joe Poerio then singled in the first run of the game. The score was 1-0 Tigers. No scoring occurred in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third, Steve Depietro led off with a double to right. Jack Nesbet then singled. Larry Heck singled, making the score 2-0 Tigers. Chris Hachem then singled, loading the bases. Ron Polakowski and Bob DePouli both had RBI singles. The score was now 4-0 Tigers. In the bottom of the third, the Yanks loaded the bases on singles by Paul Zumbo, Daren Desiere and Frank Ferry. Jim Durante (guest) was up next. Durante, behind on the count, lined the next pitch to right field. Ron Polakowski reached out and caught the ball one-handed. Great catch. That play ended the Yanks rally and the inning. The score remained 4-0 Tigers. In the top of the fourth, singles by Rob Crowell, Cliff Slater and Rich Fiederelin loaded the bases. RBI singles by Steve Depietro, Jack Nisbet and Chris Hachem made

the score 7-0 Tigers. There was no scoring until the bottom of the fifth. The Yanks made a comeback. Janice McKenna led off with a single to center. Paul Zumbo and Daren Desiere followed with singles to load the bases. Glickman and Durante (guest) followed with RBI singles. Joe Startare (guest) lined a double to center, scoring two more. Rudy Rognon then singled in another. The inning ended with the score 7-5 Tigers. In the top of the sixth, Jack Nesbet doubled. Dianne Pullen singled, putting runners on first and third. Larry Heck had an RBI single to right. The inning ended with the score 8-5 Tigers. In the bottom of the sixth, Howie Bland led off with a single to right, while being cheered on by Jim Durante (guest). Mike Demarcantonio doubled. Paul Zumbo then doubled in two runs, but alas the rally fell short and the Tigers won 8-7.
April 13, 2024 - On a great day for a game twenty-three players showed up to see Max Glickman's Yanks face off against Jack Nesbet’s Giants.
In the top of the first, Glickman led off with a single. Rob Crowell then doubled to right. Larry Heck lined a single for an RBI. The Yanks led 1-0. Mike Demarcantonio and Vin Davis singled in runs and the top of the first ended with the score 3-0 Yanks. There was no scoring in the second inning. In the top of the third, Crowell and Rognon both hit singles but their teammates left them stranded. Same can be said about the bottom of the third. Nesbet and Polakowski were left stranded on base. The score remained 3-0 Yanks. In the top of the fourth, Gregg Karl (guest) singled. Glickman followed with a single and Steve Depietro singled to load the bases. After a long at bat, John Sporer laced a single to center for an RBI making the score 4-0 Yanks. RBI singles from Crowell, Heck and Rognon finished the scoring with the Yanks ahead 7-0. There was no scoring in the bottom of the fourth or the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Chris Hachem and Polakowski led off with singles. Mike Demarcantonio then laced a double to center, scoring Hachem. Paul Zumbo then singled in an RBI. Howie Bland followed with an RBI single making the score 7-3 Yanks. Joe Poerio and Ray Oliver ended the scoring with singles. The score was now 7-5 Yanks. In the top of the sixth, Crowell doubled to right. Heck then singled. Cliff Slater and Rognon both singled. The score was now 9-5 Yanks. In the bottom of the sixth, despite singles by Ted Samuelson and Janice McKenna, the Giants could not score. The Yanks won 9-5.
April 20, 2024 - Twenty players showed up for our game. Max Glickman'sYanks faced Allan Portnoy's Mets.
There was no scoring in the first or top of the second inning.In the bottom of the second, Rudy Rognon doubled. Steve Depietro followed with a double, making the score 1-0 Mets. Larry Heck followed with a single. Doug Casetta (guest) followed with an RBI single. Cliff Slater followed with a single. Daren Desiere then hit an RBI single to make it 3-0 Mets. Janice McKenna and Joe Poerio finished out the scoring with RBI singles. The score was now 5-0 Mets. In the top of the third, singles by Robert Hurley, Bob DePouli and Ted Samuelson loaded the bases. RBI singles by Barry Worshoufsky, Lou DeBlasio and Pauline Faubert made the score 5-3 Mets. There was no more scoring til the bottom of the fourth. Portnoy led off with a single. McKenna and Joe Sartare (guest) followed with singles, loading the bases. Rob Crowell then doubled to center, plating two runs. The Mets now led 7-3. Steve Depietro followed with an RBI single. Larry Heck singled. Doug Casetta (guest) doubled and ended the scoring in the fourth. There was no scoring in the fifth. In the top of the sixth, Ted Samuelson singled and Barry Worshoufsky doubled to center. They were left stranded on base as the game ended in favor of the Mets 10-3.
