Rugby Team
By Yu Tsz Hin
The USFHK Rugby Sevens Competition was not the kind of tournament with the highest quality of
rugby, but it had a captivating element that made everyone so ambitious and united, that was the
opportunity to represent PolyU. This year was my last year to represent PolyU in this competition,
therefore I desired to capture the championship. However, there was a huge roster change this
year, we had to build up many things from zero. I was so grateful to have all my teammates,
coaches and staff supporting me and fighting together towards our ultimate goal of being crowned
champions. We started off the tournament strongly by winning all the matches on the first day.
Unfortunately, we lost by tiny margins in both the semi-final and the 2nd Runner-up match which
placed us at fourth position. It is difficult not to feel disappointed and sad after all, but that feeling
only lasted for a short while because I had left no regrets on the pitch and I knew all of us did
our best for one another. What touched me the most was that almost all of us cried after the final
match, including myself. This showed how much effort we had put in and the importance of PolyU
Rugby Team in all of our hearts. I was so thankful and blessed to have been a part of this wonderful
family. This would be a journey that I will never forget.
