Soccer Team
By Chung Sze Chan
This year was a challenging year to the PolyU Women’s Soccer Team since there were many
changes, including new members, a new coach and a new manager. Coordination was never an
easy task. Eleven players were playing on the pitch and all players must be clear with the mission
and the goal. You could never succeed if there was no communication among teammates, even
you got some outstanding players. You could never succeed if you were not following orders, even
you got a smart coach. In addition to the skills, the mentality, the positive attitude and the ability of
adaption were also essential in a match. Every match was so crucial, which would make a huge
difference to the outcome. The games were always unpredictable, the only thing we could control
was to perform our best.
Although the result was not very satisfied, it was grateful that the team was improving throughout
the season. We trained as a team. We played as a team. We won as a team. We lost as a team.
That was the most important part for the team. We lost, but we did not fail. We accepted the losses,
but we would never give up. The best team was yet to come.
