The 55th USFHK Annual Aquatic Meet was successfully held on 28 October 2018 in the Hong
Kong Sports Institute. Totally 34 swimmers including 17 male and 17 female represented PolyU to
participate in the event. After a vigorous competition among 13 institutions, we captured 15 gold,
12 silver, and 11 bronze medals and 2 new event records were set by PolyU swimmers. We won
both Men’s and Women’s Championships and Overall Championship.

High intensity training sessions were conducted regularly before the competition. Besides
equipping our swimmers with good fitness condition, we focused on our team bonding as well. An
overseas intensive training was held at Taipei in January so that swimmers would start the winter
training after the semester break. We had tough training sessions and friendly competition with
various Taipei universities. We were happy to learn new inspirations from their swimmers.

Thanks must be given to our honorary manager, manager and coach. It was almost impossible to
achieve such encouraging result without their support. We would also like to thank our swimmers
for putting so much effort and dedication for the game. Last but not least, thanks must be given to
PolyU for the unfailing support and guidance. The perfect facilities and abundant resources from
PolyU provided a lot in furnishing a successful team.

We hope that the Swimming Team had brought a good start for the Sports Team this year and best
wish to all PolyU Sports Teams with fruitful results in all the upcoming competitions.
