Table Tennis Team

PolyU Table Tennis Team had gone through a challenging year. We trained very hard to prove that
we were the best team among all universities in Hong Kong. Both Men’s and Women’s Teams got
the 1st Runner-up.

In the semi-final stage, our Men’s Team faced HKBU. We entered the final with a victory of 3:0 over
HKBU. In the final match, we met the last year final opponent CityU again. In the first match, Chu
Pak Chung fought against their key player and lost 3:0. Our captain Yau Wah Tim was once at the
1:2 condition. However, he came back with 3:2 and won the second match. Our first double team
Lai Cheuk Yin and Lee Long Hin played a marvelous match that is probably the most exciting game
of the whole USFHK competition. They recovered the game from 0:2 and 8:10 in the third game,
taking the remaining three games. Lai and Lee helped PolyU progress to a condition of 2:1 leading
CityU. However, we were disappointed that we lost both fourth and fifth matches with 0:3.

Although our Men’s Team could not bring the title of champion back to PolyU, we had already
strived our very best in the every match. With this spirit and attitude, we won several unbelievable
matches which brought us further in the competition. I believed that PolyU Table Tennis Team was
going to become stronger and reach higher achievement in the future. Last but not least, thanks
must be given to our team manager and our coach for their wholehearted efforts and supports for
our team. Men’s and Women’s Champions would be our target in next year.
