UP AND AWARE - 7
2. be rude to your classmates
What I would say What I would do
3. be disobedient towards your pa rents
What I would say What I would do
Being mean, rude, saying nasty things, gossiping and spreading rumours about
someone are things people say and do when they choose to be disrespectful.
Respect is thinking and behaving in a way that lets others know that you care
about their feelings and their well-being.
Respect is when you listen to what the other person is saying, with full attention.
Respect is NOT calling others names or hitting them.
Respect is NOT bullying others.
Respect is when you think before you speak and act so that you don’t hurt others’
feelings. You can show respect to others even if you don’t agree with how they
think or what they say or do.
Now repeat the above exercise and think how you can be:
• a respectful brother/sister
• a respectful learner
• a respectful child to your parents
‘We hate some persons because we do not know them; and we will not know them
because we hate them.’ —Charles Caleb Colton
