Ms Jasmine: The next word is ‘conscience’.
Many children are confused. Molly is also taken aback. She looks around and then
at Mayank’s sheet. Mayank has written something. She is not sure if the spelling is
correct but since she herself doesn’t know the spelling, she copies the word as it is.
She is blinded by the thought of the prestigious trophy that she wants to win at
all cost.
When the results are announced, Molly is declared the winner. She has scored one
mark more than Mayank.
Mayank: (smiling) Congratulations, Molly.
Molly: (hesitatingly) Thanks, Mayank. Congratulations to you too.
When Molly is handed the trophy, she is ashamed. She knows she doesn’t deserve
the prize. She goes to Ms Jasmine and tells her what had happened. Ms Jasmine
praises Molly for being truthful. She announces both Mayank and Molly as winners.
