Jimmy: (confused) Oh! How did it get so dirty?

Alien: Well, people littered the land. The smoke from factories was so

poisonous that many animal species disappeared. The colour of the

rivers changed because of the toxic wastes.

Jimmy: Oh! So, you plan to live on Earth now?

Alien: Let us see. I have been sent by my planet mates to explore other
planets. I am an astronaut in Hola. We have shortlisted Earth but

I have come to check if it is worth living on or not.

Jimmy: Okay. Do you want some help from me?

Alien: (politely) I have many instruments and gadgets to carry out the
survey. However, I can explore it only at night so that nobody can

spot me.

Jimmy: Hmmm…I will wait for you here tomorrow. Tell me about your

observations.
The next day, the alien met Jimmy near his house.

Jimmy: (curiously) So, what did your survey reveal?
Alien: Well, Earth is a beautiful planet and we had seen the satellite pictures

of it. But it is fast turning into another Hola. People have no regard

for the environment. The rivers are polluted and fresh water is
disappearing, the land is transforming into a huge dumping ground,

trees are vanishing and a concrete jungle of buildings is everywhere.

Jimmy: (embarrassed) Hmm…What have you decided?

Alien: (with regret) I am sorry, Jimmy. I will have to leave and look for

another planet. It was nice meeting you. You seem to be a nice boy
who is capable of protecting your planet. All the best!

The alien got into his spaceship and disappeared in a jiffy. A cloud of dust formed
when it took off. Jimmy rubbed his eyes. When he opened them, he was in his

room, on his bed. He realised that it was all a dream—the spaceship, the alien,
Planet Hola and the survey. But there was one thing that was real—the condition
of Earth. He had to do something before it turned into a planet that was not

liveable for anyone.
