Faraway in a jungle, all the birds, animals and trees lived peacefully. But gradually

the jungle started losing its beauty.

Everyone was disturbed because of this. Lion, the king of the jungle, was worried.
He called all the animals for an emergency meeting. All the animals came.

King: (in a concerned tone) Hello, my fellow jungle mates! I have been

observing some problems in the jungle. Many birds and animals have
left the jungle in the past few months. This forest is not half as beautiful

as it used to be. What do you think is the problem?

Monkey: (with a sad face) Yes sir, we all have observed that. Many of my friends

and their families have moved to the city.

Elephant: (with a tear in his eye) What can I say? Oh dear king! My brother was
killed by poachers for his tusk. I have heard that they make jewellery

with elephant tusks.

Blue jay: (with anger) The tree count has reduced drastically. Even my nest was
destroyed last week by some woodcutters. My family is homeless now.

King: (agitated) Oh! This is terrible!
