Lab Activity
ADDING 2 OR 3 NUMBERS
Purpose:
To count 2 and 3 numbers mentally.
Material needed:
Fresh peas in their pods or rajma beans.
Activity:
The teacher divides the class into two
teams. One child from each team is given 2 or
MATHEMATICS 3 pea pods.
They shell the peas and then count and adds
all the peas.
3 + 5 + 4 = 12
If the answer is correct, the team gets a
point.
The same activity can be played by picking
up beans from two or three containers and
4 + 5 + 3 = 12 counting and then adding the numbers.
The activity is over when each child gets a chance to play.
