Types of Plants

Plants are of different shapes and sizes. Some are
big and strong whereas some are small and weak.

Let us read about the different types of plants.

Trees

Plants that are big, tall and strong are called trees.

We see a lot of trees all around us.

Trees have a thick and hard stem called trunk.
They also have many branches. These branches

bear leaves, flowers and fruits.
ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
The roots of a tree are thick and strong.

Trees live for many years.

Shrubs mango tree

Shrubs are smaller than trees.

Shrubs too have hard stems but they are not thick and strong.

They also have many small, woody branches. They may be bushy.

Shrubs live only for a few years.
