Jorge Villar
Recently, I had the incredible privilege of welcoming the Friends of
Chimbote Board of Directors and staff to the vibrant community of
Cambio Puente in Chimbote. This visit was more than just a formal
meeting; it was a profound, soul-stirring experience that left us
deeply moved and grateful for the sacred work we are fortunate
to witness here every day. Throughout the visit, we encountered
some of the most courageous, faith-filled women whose strength
and determination inspire every moment of our mission. Walking
through the community, we saw firsthand how our mission has
taken root, transforming lives through the compassion and tireless
dedication of our extraordinary staff in Chimbote. Their commitment
to the community is unwavering, and their faith in the transformative
power of love and service shines through every interaction. Watching
them comfort struggling mothers, play with children who have faced
hardships beyond their years, and offer words of encouragement to those who often feel invisible is a testament to the power
of selfless service. The Board members who visited were deeply moved by the way our staff, through their hard work and
compassion, have become beacons of God's love, providing not only physical aid but also much-needed emotional and spiritual
support.
What we witnessed in Cambio Puente was not simply change, but a rebirth. This community, once burdened with overwhelming
hardship, is now brimming with renewed hope, resilience, and faith. I am proud to say, with a heart full of gratitude, that “an
incredible transformation is taking place in the community of Cambio Puente.” But the true heart of this transformation lies
in the women who have found the strength to rise and transform not only their own lives but also the lives of their families.
These women are becoming leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates for their children. Through our programs, which teach
sustainable skills and build self-worth, they are learning to believe in themselves and their potential. They are united by a
shared vision for a brighter future, and together, they are making a difference.
As I reflect on the year, what stands out most is the laughter and joy of
the children in Cambio Puente. Their bright faces, filled with hope and
curiosity, remind me that despite the struggles they face, their strength
and resilience shine through. These children are not defined by their
circumstances; they are defined by their hope, their dreams, and their
incredible potential. They are the future of Cambio Puente, and they are
already inspiring all of us.
This Thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone
who has made this journey possible. Your support, prayers, and belief in
our mission are transforming lives in ways that words can hardly express.
Thank you for being a
part of this incredible
journey. May this season
of Thanksgiving bring
you peace, joy, and
a renewed sense of
purpose as we continue
to walk together in faith
and service.
