  Service Transition
The goal of service transition lifecycle stage is to ensure that the new or changed service is moved from the
development environment to the live
environment in as safe a manner as
possible. This includes performing the activities of assessing risk, testing, training and user preparation, rollout planning, and release and deployment.

Processes discussed within the Service Transition lifecycle stage are:
Transition Planning and Support - Ensuring that each process has the correct resources available to succeed (budget, headcount, skills).
Service Asset & Configuration Management Process - Identify and document service assets in order to understand and be able to report on their inter-relationships and how they are used to support services.
Change Management Process - Ensure that all changes within the service lifecycle follow the appropriate change process. Allow beneficial changes to proceed while slowing or stopping those changes that could prove harmful.
Release & Deployment Process - The object of Release Management is to build, test, and deliver the capability manage the rollout of changes with minimal disruption to the environment, services, or support organizations.
Knowledge Management Process - Ensure that organizational knowledge is recorded, validated and available to those who need it at the right time. Good knowledge usually equals good decisions.
