Supplier management is responsible for managing vendors to ensure the organization receives “value for money”. This goal includes the selection of vendors, negotiations regarding products to be delivered, ongoing management and performance evaluation, renewal or re-negotiation at end of contract term, and management of all contract paperwork.
Supplier Management Process
Supplier Management Process
  In order to assure the
quality of delivered
product, service
providers must
continually evaluate
suppliers who provide
part or all of the
service. Customers
do not want to be
bothered with the
tasks of managing
suppliers. An IT
supplier policy should define the process for evaluating new vendors for consideration and on-going vendor performance against expectations.
