Two View Points
Component Availability – Individual components can be monitored and the availability of those components to do their job can be measured, but the customer does not care about component availability. Customers are only interested in the other
viewpoint – service availability.
Service Availability – Service availability can be determined from understanding and monitoring the availability of the components (CIs) of the service. Service availability requires that all components are monitored, and that service is measured from end to end.
