Service Management Key Concepts
Services are often harder than products to create a standardized delivery. Unlike a loaf of bread (product) services are consumed as they are produced. Services cannot be stored. This issue of consumption means that a failure to deliver the service is immediately felt by the consumer / customer / user and that failure is uncorrectable for that instance of delivery. Service providers must strive to always have services available when promised.
