Trainer George Billers leads Let Him Rip out of
the barn with exercise rider Doug Carter aboard. The 3 year-old gelding had  nished sixth in both of his career starts and George’s daughter Paula Billers said that they were just happy to have him racing. “He was bought as
a 2-year-old and then my Uncle died and we had to re-organize. Let Him Rip is like a sentimental pet and we were happy just to get him to the races.”
George Billers is the
brother in-law of the late
Albert Trudell Senior. Albert was the family’s trainer before he passed away in late 2000. In an effort to keep the horse interest in the family, George, at the

Numerous Wins for Numerous Times - winner of the 2001 Grade 1 Atto Mile

along with Larry Dargavel and
Dr. McMartin were instrumental
in saving the horse’s life late
last year. The three of them
took turns walking him around
the shedrow for three hours
before the van arrived to take
Numerous Times to Guelph
University Equine Hospital.
Numerous times suffered colic
that day and beat the odds thanks to the dedication and caring of his handlers.
With a hint of tears  lling his eyes, Elvis smiles, “I am very happy. It feels great. Just knowing all that he went through and to achieve what he has. I am so happy.”
Numerous times, owned by Robert Harvey and partners’ Committee Stable was trained by Sid Attard and ridden to victory in the 2001 Atto Mile (now the Ricoh Woodbine Mile) by Patrick Husbands who had been aboard for the colt’s previous 5 consecutive wins
age of 60, decided to make a career change and earn his trainer license.
Let Him Rip went on to win
6 of his career 47 starts with
9 seconds and 7 thirds earning more than $225,000
George Billers continues to train at Woodbine and Willie Dunn for owners Oak Run and partner is his most successful trainee to date with 6 wins, 6 seconds, 7 thirds and more than $265,000 in earnings.
In 2016 he enjoyed a late win streak with multiple wins by
Cat Zapper, Badjeros Boy and Ethical Funds, the latter of which
 nished a game third in the G3 Valedictory Stakes on closing day of the Woodbine meet.
(3 wins in 2000 before the colic surgery and 3 wins including the Mile in 2001 afterwards)
Numerous Times was purchased by Robert Harvey
for $165,000 as a yearling out
of the Keeneland September sale in 1998 and began his career at age 3. He was named Champion Grass Horse in 2001 and retired in 2004 with 6 wins, 2 seconds and a third in 13 starts with earnings of $845,775.
Elvis continues to groom for Sid Attard at Woodbine today.
