When working with a longer piece of rope, in order to keep the binding
tight, use a long whipping knot that doesn’t have length limitations.
Aside from the blood knot, no other knot is tighter, even stitched
whipping.
1 - Start with very tight round turns with the long part of the sail rope, while also holding the end of
the same rope.
Continue until about half of the final length is covered, then insert a marlinspike for the rest of
the sheathing.
