It is awesome how Greensprings School adapted to the disruption caused by the global
Corona Virus. Parents, students, teachers and administrators, all worked together to make
the best of a potentially bad situation. Thankfully, there was a solid foundation already on
the Ikoyi Campus that is based on trust and confidence in Greensprings School. Parents
trust that Greensprings School has the best interest of the families that we serve and that
every decision made is child-centered.

The move from being in the physical classroom to on-line platforms to deliver instruction
might have appeared to be effortless to an outside observer. In reality, it required sleepless
nights and a lot of sacrifice on the part of Greensprings School teachers and administrators.
Lessons had to be developed, new software packages, Apps and communications tools
needed to be mastered, expeditiously. In the true “get it done” spirit of Greensprings
School, the VLE platform was modified to support on-line teaching and learning. Eventually
the Greensprings Learning Room (GLR) was created. It quickly grew in popularity as in now
the premiere teaching and learning platform in Lagos State and in all of Nigeria.
Greensprings School's stellar teachers were able to deliver high quality lessons on-line and
our students responded in-kind by developing additional coping and technology usage
skills.
My hat goes off to our parents for showing that you are our solid partners in this
educational journey. You modified, purchased or reassigned the technology in your
households so that your child(ren) could have continuous access to learning. One of the
blessings of this time period was that you were home to be able to help your ward to adjust.
You sat with them to make sure that they were connected properly and could function well.
You benefitted by being able to see what our teachers do on a daily basis when they are
teaching your child. This strengthened our respect, understanding and appreciation for
each other.
I thank you for being who you are. I also salute Mrs. Koiki for her belief in children and for
her optimism towards the future. This session has been a blessing for all of us and has
pushed us to grow in ways that we never saw coming.
Sincerely.

Dr. Barney Wilson 1
Deputy Director of Education
