37. Bowline with Two Turns


               Also known as: Double Bowline, Round Turn Bowline




               Another bowline variation, this one is stronger, more resistant to slippage,
               and resists capsizing better. Climbers rely on it for safety. After you’ve
               learned the standard Bowline, this one’s simple: just replace the initial
               crossing turn with two round turns.




                 Uses: general lifting, climbing, personal safety
                 Pros: very secure; easy to untie

                 Cons: bulkier than standard Bowline; requires more rope
