communicative purpose
of explanation text
The communicative purpose of an explanatory text is to explain how and why a
phenomenon or event occurs systematically and logically. This text aims to help
readers understand the process, cause-and-effect sequence, or mechanism
behind the event.
Furthermore, explanatory texts can also be explained by mentioning the laws of
cause and effect of an event. The discussion of an explanatory text typically
includes the reasons why the event occurred and the consequences that resulted
from it. This is why explanatory texts are often referred to as texts containing a
collection of various information and facts.
