Happiness
Majority of the people agree with the fact that money can’t buy happiness. It is partially because it can
come without a price, but also because the key to live life is to enjoy it by being happy and doing what
you love, not being wealthy. So what is happiness? How can we describe and achieve it even though it’s
invisible and intangible in our daily lives?
Happiness is defined as a state of being happy in general. However, it has different descriptions for
each individual due to our dissimilar living conditions and perspectives. People who have financial
difficulties consider being rich as a way to be happy while people who have high income explains this as
the feeling you get when you follow your passion such as arts or music. Therefore, there is not common
terms that fully determine the origin of contentment and the small steps we need to take in order to
reach it. In other words, something that gives you pleasure can’t be assumed of giving the same feeling
for another person.
We can find happiness from little things. There are situations where money is needed to make
somebody happy, but it is not the source of it in every circumstances. The simple words and actions play
a huge role in becoming delighted. Even the daily things we do without intentions can make people
joyful such as saying Good Morning to a classmate on your way to the school or just saying Thank you
for the person who opened you a door. This lights up their day since these warm words spread positive
energy from you to those people around you and make you feel pleasant at the same time. On the other
hand, getting paid after working diligently and consistently makes employees satisfied with their work.
Because they spend hours and hours to finish their assigned work before the deadline and put effort into
its quality. So, it is reasonable to see from the view that money can be like a reward in some occasions
similar to the one above.
In conclusion, the meaning of the term called happiness varies tremendously from one person to
another depending on our viewpoints and other factors such as income. Despite this, small things that
we don’t pay attention at all during our busy schedule can become a root of ecstasy if we spend a
moment to realize it instead of thinking that money will buy us everything including happiness.
