                                        Hello! My name is Daire.
                                        Welcome to Ireland! Kids

I am 11 years old, and I live in Dublin, Presents
                                        Ireland.

I wake up at 7:00 every morning to get
ready for school which starts at 9:00.

Most days I take the DART, the local
train, to school, but sometimes my
                                        mum drives me.

Some of my subjects are English,
                                        math, history, French, and Irish.
Learning to speak Irish is really
                                        difficult!

After school on Mondays, I play
                                        rugby with the under-11’s team.
                                        Our matches are on Saturdays.
Dinner always includes potatoes— “Declare his glory among the
boiled, roasted, or chips (French fries.) My favorite dinner is
bangers and mash, which is sausage and mashed potatoes. nations, his marvelous works

Da comes home from work around 8:00 p.m. By then I have among all the peoples!
finished my homework. I head off to bed at 10:00 p.m.

One Mission Society began working in Ireland in 1997. The island is divided NORTHERN
into two regions, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It has
beautiful green pastures and low lying mountains with soft-flowing rivers.
Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle because it rains so much that things

      stay green.

                               Mountain —

                           • Irish folkore, shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold, Ireland
                               and rainbows—
