A Game Called Fonty

Ukrainian children like to play this game outside self-centered
             and at parties.

The children stand in a circle, and each child Attitude
puts a small item in the middle of the Mira Meefirst:
circle. One child stands with his/her back to Otto, why are you making
the objects. Another child picks one object and plans to go on another mis-
asks, "What shall this one do?"
                                                                                  sion trip with the youth
The child facing away assigns a simple, funny task group this summer? We’ve
to perform for the person to whom the object done that once already.
belongs. The person who says the task doesn’t
know whose item it is, and he/she may even have to
be the one to do the funny thing!
There are two options for play. Each item is chosen OR
and tasks are named. Then the children perform
their tasks after all items are chosen, or the child
can do his/her task immediately after that item is Outreach Otto:
             chosen. I learned so much
                                                                     about God and saw
Examples of silly things might be, "Walk around the Him work in
table 10 times while singing the alphabet song," or amazing ways on
"Tell someone in the room that you think they are that trip.
wonderful, and that you are so glad to know them."
                                                                     I’m excited about
Anything goes as long as it is not too embarrassing!
                                                                     going again. Why
                                                                     don’t you come
                                                                     again also, Mira?
      oops!
                                                                    Christ-centered
Missionary Debbie relates what happened the first time
she shared chocolate brownie cake with her Ukrainian
      friends. Gratitude
“Yum, this is good!” my Ukrainian teammates exclaimed.
“Please give us the recipe,” one asked.
I began listing the ingredients in Russian. “2 cups sugar, Max is on the move again!
      ½ cup cocoa, 2 cups flour…”
                                                                    Can you guess where Max
My teammates got a puzzled look on their faces that will travel to next?
quickly turned into laughter. “Why are you laughing?”

I asked. “This is so delicious,” they replied, “we never Here are some clues:
would have guessed there were flies in
it!” • The country is shaped like a

“Flies?” I asked, confused. Suddenly, I
remembered that the words for flour • People eat sushi (raw fish).
and fly in Russian are very similar.

I had accidentally instructed them to put
