                                                                                                    Kids
Shalom! I’m Rebekah. Welcome to Israel!
I am 10 years old and live in Haifa, the third largest
                                city in Israel. Presents

My mother sells baked goods like honey cakes and
chocolate rugelach at a table in the Jaffa Flea Market.
After school, I like to walk around with my brother
Shalev and look at all of the tables. At the market,
people can buy homemade crafts, ceramics,
                                    antiques, jewelry, and much more!

My family is Messianic Jewish, which means we
believe in YHWH (Yahweh), or one God. Some
holidays we celebrate are Passover, Hanukkah,
Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Shabbat, which
is the Jewish Sabbath from Friday evening into
Saturday evening. I’m in year 5 of primary school,
which always closes for Hanukkah so we can celebrate with games
such as Dreidel. We also don’t go to school during Passover, a
holiday that celebrates our ancestors’ deliverance from Egypt. “Declare his glory among the

Israel is a country along the Mediterranean Sea in the Middle East. The
capital of Israel is a city that Jesus visited a bunch of times … Jerusalem! It is —Psalm 96:3 ESV
considered a holy city for Christians, Jews, and Muslims and has ancient Haifa
walls built around it dated at more than 500 years old! The most common
languages that people speak in Israel are Arabic and Hebrew, but English is
well known too. Israel has more than 200 museums, including the only
underwater museum in the world where visitors can scuba dive or snorkel to
      look at the artifacts! Jerusalem

Here are some other cool things to check out in Israel:

                         • The Dead Sea, Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity, the
Mount of Olives, and the Jordan River —
                         • Eating falafels, onion slices dipped in hummus, lamb
shawarmas, St. Peter’s fish, and pomegranates —

                         • Wild goats, camels, hoopoes, jerboas, marbled pole-
                            cats, and fire salamanders —

                         • Sandboarding, floating in the Dead Sea, and swimming
                            in the Dolphin Reef —
                         • Visiting the Garden Tomb, the place where Jesus was Destination:
buried after his crucifixion and rose from the dead.

God loves Israel and so does One Mission Kids!
