P. 5
Introduction
Hua Qi Min is one of those rare Chinese artists who has achieved
recognition as a traditional painter and as one who has made a
successful transition to contemporary art.
"The Remote East" is a series of twelve contemporary paintings,
each approximately 40"x40", from circa 1988, created on Kaoli paper,
with mineral colors and Chinese ink.
Stories within stories are beautifully presented by this Chinese
Master. He invites and draws the viewer into his exotic fantasy
world of music, dance, story-telling, romance and adventure through
the prism of Chinese history.
This book is one in a series of "The Parker Collection" - an eclectic
collection of fine art, consisting of prints, paintings, and sculptures,
as well as furniture and objects of art collected by Ronald and
Yvonne Parker over a 38 year period.
