Page 7 - The Parker Collection: Hua Qi Min

My painting "Romance" was from a series of
twelve, entitled "The Remote East."

After reviewing the slides, I bought the
other eleven paintings. When they arrived
from Beijing, I framed and hung two of
these twelve paintings. They followed me
to my various homes and are still as fresh
and exciting as ever. My wife, Yvonne, and
I share this passion for art and enjoy Hua
Qi Min's paintings every day.

Our "Parker Collection" is eclectic, with
emphasis on figurative art.
The collection is composed of
approximately 900 paintings, 1,400
drawings, 700+ limited editions and 300
sculptures, as well as furniture and objects
of art. Our collection is housed in a 33,000
sf old silk mill called PaPA (Parker and
Parker Art). Our tag line is "You've been to
MoMA, now come to PaPA." PaPA is
designed as a cultural center with art
galleries and spaces for
music/dance/theatre performances.

My reasons for collecting art have not
changed over time. They are the
excitement of discovery, aesthetic joy,
intellectual stimulation, financial rewards
