They watched the bug move to
the blue crocodile rug. It ?icked its wings,
jumped into the rug, and disappeared!

“Where’d it go?” asked Craig and Claudia,

looking around the ?oor.

At that moment, the rug came to life with rippling
waves of swamp water that spilled into the room, and large,
green eyes and a scaly snout popped to the surface. A crocodile!

It opened its large mouth and snapped its sharp teeth
together.

Craig and Claudia shrieked with fear and ran to the
sofa. They scrambled onto it, accidently knocking the
stuffed animals into the murky water.

They watched the crocodile’s scaly back glide through the
water around them. They were trapped!

Suddenly, the wooden trunk of books shook and turned into
a leafy tree that quickly grew toward the ceiling —except there
was no ceiling anymore! Just a bright sapphire sky and ?uffy
clouds.

Claudia and Craig watched in wonder as the walls disappeared
and ?owery trees grew up around them. The attic had changed into an
Australian mangrove forest!

Colorful birds whistled and squawked in the branches
above them. Bright pink and purple ?owers bloomed from
every nearby tree.
