A GREENER ENVIRONMENT,




              THE GREENER THE GAME






              Team Malawi led by its Chef de Mis-
              sion Felix Yola on December, 2 2022 joined
              Sports Ministers from Zambia, Zimbabwe,
              Botswana, South Africa and Mozambique and
              the Chief Executive O cer (CEO) AUSC
              Region 5 Stanley Mutoya in a tree planting exer-
              cise at Nalikule Teachers College.


              The aim of planting the trees is to use sports to
              conserve the environment as well as one way of
              developing and implementing Region 5 games
              sport and environment legacy programme.

              Making his remarks  at  the  event,  Mutoya
              emphasized on the need to preserve the envi-
              ronment as one way of dealing with natural
              disasters which for the past years have a ected
              countries such as Malawi and Mozambique.


              “We need to conserve and preserve our envi-
              ronment. This exercise is part of developing and
              implementing the AUSC Region 5 games, sports
              and environment legacy program where we are
              sending the message to all the athletes in our
              countries that we need to conserve the environ-
              ment  as part  of  climate  change management
              strategy. Our environment needs us as its custo-
              dians we should ensure that our trees are taken
              care of”. Explained Mutoya.
