Lily Faith
ANOTHER STORY
Less than 2 years after Alyssa finally came home from the
hospital, Heidi delivered another micro-preemie – Lily Faith.
Lily was only 27-weeks term and weighed in at a whopping 2
pounds.
She transferred to Children’s National Medical Center in
Washington, DC, where she spent over 2 months in their NICU.
She had a brain bleed which resolved itself, but an antibiotic she
was given for the NEC in her intestines ended up causing some
hearing loss in both ears.
Today, Lily is 9 years old, excels in school, and has been given a
special gift for gymnastics – placing 2nd in the Balance Beam in
the Maryland State Championships in her first year of
competition. The only indication of her premature birth are her
hearing aids… but that journey is part of ANOTHER STORY of
FAITH, HOPE, AND PRAYER.
