Italian Hitch

A sliding hitch used in climbing
and abseiling to control a descent.
Pull on the loaded rope (rope that takes
the strain) to cause the knot to slip.
Pull on the braking rope to control
the speed of the slip.
The braking rope should not be
confused with the loaded rope.
