Plymouth's Finest
Some go about spreading '' a word to the wise,''
Some want only to catch bad guys,
Some practice incurring the Chief's ire,
And some only want to retire.
They respond immediately to every call
Whether it's real or nothing at all.
And should they stop you for a "chat"
Rest assured, underneath is a real pussycat!

CHANGE IN THE MOPED LAW
As of July 1, 1983, Act No. 91 was amended to the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code. This act deals directly with the
operation and definition of Mopeds. Changes in this new law concerning mopeds and their operation do the
following:
a. Increase the allowable horsepower froin 1.5 to 2.
b. Increase the maximum speed from 25 to 30.
c. Impose a requirement that the drive system shall not require shifting of gears by an operator.
d. Eliminate the pedal requirement.
e. Require the retail dealer to obtain the registration in the purchaser's name.
f. Requires HELMET use by operators 18 years old or less.
The Motor Vehicle Code also requires the moped operator (driver) to have a drivers license or a special moped
license. The minimum age for the special moped license is 15. It further stipulates that there shall be no more than
one person on a moped and that the operator obey all traffic laws.
