SESSION 5 - Applying your Superpowers
SUCCESS MINDSET & RESILIENCE
SESSION PLANNING
Platform: Zoom video conferencing
Zoom link: Zoom link should be provided to all mentors, participants and guests
prior to the session.
Mentors: Suitably trained mentors should be fully briefed on their role, expectations,
and session content.
Session host: An appropriately skilled mentor, or other, should be assigned the role
of hosting the session.
Participants: Participants should be fully briefed on session times, and expectations.
IT support: Media/IT support should be available during the session to deal with
conferencing and IT issues.
Session Duration: 90 minutes
SESSION PROGRESSION
Session 3 had the group exploring the idea that each person’s life is like a book. Session 4 had them understanding that
everyone has Superpowers, and by applying these powers, they can control their life story, and forge their own destiny.
In this session, participants will discover that it’s not enough just to have Superpowers, if they want to succeed in life.
How they apply their Superpowers daily will determine how successful they will be in pursuing their passions.
Underpinning this thinking, in this session, are the concepts of success mindset, and resilience.
SESSION SUMMARY
The session will start in the live room with the participants and mentors coming together.
1. MAIN GROUP SESSION 1
INTRODUCTION TO SUCCESS MINDSET & RESILIENCE (Duration: 70 mins)
Revisit previous session (10 mins) - Once all the participants enter the room, The host revisits the last session about
Superpowers, and asks each participant and mentor whether having a greater awareness of their personal Superpowers,
changed their week in any way.
SUCCESS MINDSET
Set up today’s session (5 mins) – The host explains to the group that there is little point having Superpowers, if you
don’t use them to develop a success mindset that is energised by positive thoughts and feelings.
