The LIVE FM Program
The LIVE FM program in schools includes 1-to-5-day workshops where students learn professional
hosting and interview techniques, as well as production, producing, and promotional skills.
These programs lay the foundation for students to address and broadcast issues that resonate
most with their peers, school, and local community.
LIVE FM Program Options
LIVE FM runs the following two programs in schools.
1. One-day program
2. Multi-day program (i.e., two or more days)
1. One-day Program
In the one-day program students spend the morning in a workshop where they learn how to
professionally host a radio show and interview people.
The afternoon is spent interviewing up to 4 guests.
2. Multi-day Program
• This is a 2–5-day program where your students run the LIVE FM radio station.
• Day 1 Workshop - Students learn how to host a radio show and interview guests
like a professional.
• Day 2 Workshop - Students learn production skills in radio including operating a
broadcast console, video and audio production and editing, and photography.
• Day 3-5 - Students interview invited guests
On one of these days we encourage schools to have their students run an outside
broadcast off-campus at a local shopping centre or other public location.
• The session days in the multi-day program do not have to be run consecutively
but it would be best if Day 1 and 2 were scheduled back-to-back for continuity of
training.
