       WHA T REC ORDING

       EQUIPMENT CAN I U SE?

If you are familiar with using recording equipment, you can skip this section and go straight to
the section on SCRIPTING AND REHEARSING YOUR VOICEOVERS.

For those who don’t have experience in recording audio, either seek support from a staff
member or parent who has, or source a simple recording option that is right for your level of
knowledge, and can produce good results.

Recording equipment can include mixers or audio recorders such as these.

But if you have never used this type of equipment before it might be best to use equipment
that you are familiar with, such as your mobile phone, tablet or computer, to record your
       audio.

Whatever option you decide on, you will need to practice using the equipment before you
formally start recording, to ensure that the audio levels of your voiceovers are broadcast
       quality.

If your audio is distorted, hissy, or full of echo, it doesn’t make for pleasant listening, and can’t
       be used on the station.

Check out the instructional videos on the next pages to help you, if you decide to record your
voiceovers using a mobile phone, tablet or computer.
