Be Like Her LIVE

The Concept

MAKING MEDIA AUSTRALIA, in association with strategic partners that
advocate for respect for women, gender equality, and building aspiration in young girls, will
broadcast Be Like Her LIVE on radio station LIVE FM (www.livefm.online), nationally and
internationally in 2021.

Be Like Her LIVE is a live radio event where secondary school female and male students
are given the opportunity to interview, on radio station LIVE FM, women who have achieved
success in male dominated industries, female alumnae who have succeeded in their chosen
fields, and female champions who have achieved success in their local communities.

Up to 30 single sex and co-educational schools, with over 300 students and teachers, will be
invited to produce and co-host one hour of radio per school during a week-long global radio
event.

Each participating school can brand their radio show as their own e.g. mac.rob LIVE, and
decide on the content that it will broadcast, and how it will be delivered.

The 30 hours of live radio and video content will be repurposed as podcasts and video for
on-demand listening and viewing post-event.

As part of this initiative, students from participating schools will undergo basic training in
radio, video and photography.

Working in media teams, along with producing their live radio show, students will also be
responsible for promoting their show to a target audience, and educating their school and
local community about key event learnings.

Awards and incentives will be offered to schools who produce the most professional and
engaging program and those schools who achieve the greatest reach in live and
on-demand listener numbers, video views and social media analytics.
