Top 10 Steps to Improve Your Pace of Play
A good Pace of Play makes for an enjoyable round of golf. These tips should help you to play comfortably within the proper time frames without rushing.
1. The maximum pace for playing Terravita is 4 hours 10 minutes.
2. Stay in position with the group in front of you. *See below for more information.
3. Play ready golf. Forget about honors except in major competitions.
4. Go directly to your ball rather than waiting in the cart for your partner to hit. Take extra clubs with you when walk- ing to your ball so that you have options.
5. If riding in a cart, after hitting your ball, drive to the next shot before replacing your club(s) in your bag.
6. Mark scorecards on the next tee.
7. A provisional ball should be employed when there’s a
question as to whether the ball may be lost/out of bounds. You should spend a maximum of three minutes looking for a lost ball.
8. Come prepared to the tee - have an extra ball, tee, ball markers, etc. with you.
9. Don’t delay taking your stroke because you are having a conversation .. hit the ball .. then continue your story!
10. Park your cart behind the green or near the next tee.
* Just a reminder – You are out of position IF:
• Your group is on the tee of a par 3 and the group ahead of you
has cleared the next tee
• Your group is on the tee of a par 4 and the green ahead is
clear
• Your group is on a par 5 and the group ahead of you is on the
   green
